Как сообщает USA Today, Джилл Байден намерена совмещать свою карьеру с обязанностями первой леди.

Джилл Байден более 40 лет работает учительницей английского языка и преподавателем у детей с эмоциональными расстройствами.

 

Исторически принято, что первая леди должна жить в Белом доме вместе с президентом и полностью посвятить себя семейным обязанностям. Однако Джилл не планирует бросать работу.

«Если мы доберемся до Белого дома, я буду продолжать преподавать», — сказала она в интервью CBS Sunday Morning в августе.

В то же время она взяла отпуск на время президентской кампании своего мужа.

До этого лишь жена Франклина Рузвельта Элеонора пыталась сохранить работу будучи первой леди, однако потом поняла, что не справляется с двойной нагрузкой.

Джилл Байден также продолжала работать учительницей когда ее муж был вице-президентом в администрации Барака Обамы.
