Медиакорпорация Deutsche Welle в понедельник, 26 сентября, подала гражданский иск в суд Анкары из-за конфискации телевизионного интервью с министром Турции по делам молодежи и спорта Акифом Чагатайем Кылычем для программы медиакомпании Deutsche Welle (DW) Conflict Zone.
Сразу после записи интервью для программы c Мишелем Фридманом (Michel Friedman) в Анкаре 5 сентября пресс-секретарь министерства неожиданно объявил, что медиакомпании Deutsche Welle запрещено обнародовать беседу с министром. Все отснятые материалы были конфискованы. Редакция не получила материал обратно ни в назначенный ею срок в полдень следующего дня, ни в установленное юристами DW время, после чего подала в суд.
Генеральный директор DW Петер Лимбург (Peter Limbourg) призвал турецкую сторону немедленно возвратить отснятый материал. Эти действия турецких властей "не имеют ничего общего с принципом верховенства закона и демократии", заявил он. В ходе интервью с Кылычем обсуждалась попытка госпереворота в ночь на 16 июля, последовавшие за ним массовые чистки и аресты, а также ситуация со свободой слова в Турции и положение женщин в турецком обществе. Министра также попросили прокомментировать ряд заявлений президента Турции Реджепа Тайипа Эрдогана на этот счет.
