Двоюрідний брат президента Росії Володимира Путіна Ігор Путін брав участь у найбільшій в історії схемі з відмивання грошей на суму $230 млрд через естонське відділення Danske Bank.

Про це в інтерв'ю американській телекомпанії CBS розповів колишній менеджер банку Говард Уілкінсон, який викрив схему відмивання грошей.

За його словами, через естонське відділення банку кожен день проходило до $20 млн – гроші проводила зареєстрована в Лондоні фірма Lantana Trade, яка на британському урядовому сайті була вказана як та, що "перебуває у стані спокою". Адреса реєстрації цієї компанії виявилася "домом" для 64 підставних фірм з рахунками в Danske Bank.

Виявивши підозрілі операції, Уілкінсон повідомив про це чотирьом високопоставленим керівникам банку. Реакції від них не надійшло, тому менеджер звільнився і повернувся до Британії.

Однією з проблем була участь у схемі відмивання грошей родичів президента РФ Путіна.

"Здається, це був Ігор Путін, якого я вважаю двоюрідним братом російського президента. Були посилання на ФСБ. ФСБ, я думаю, наступник КДБ. Це наче таємна поліція. Люди, що керують компанією, були пов'язані з декількома банками, які збанкрутували в Росії", — розповів Уілкінсон.

CBS зазначає, що Ігоря Путіна підозрювали і в інших російських схемах з відмивання грошей, але він завжди заявляв про свою невинність.
