Американский сенатор Тед Круз, который в 2016 году был одним из главных претендентов на пост президента США от Республиканской партии, объявил о самоизоляции из-за встречи с носителем коронавируса. Аналогичные меры решил предпринять член Палаты представителей Пол Госар.

Об этом пишет Associated Press.

В конце февраля Круз и Госар участвовали в Конференции консервативных политических действий (CPAC), где присутствовал человек, чьи анализы на коронавирус дали положительный результат. Они побудут дома до конца недели, когда закончится 14-дневный инкубационный срок болезни. 

Участниками конференции были еще несколько видных республиканцев, в том числе конгрессмен Марк Медоуз, ставший в начале марта новым главой аппарата Белого Дома вместо Мика Малвейни.

Президент Дональд Трамп и вице-президент Майк Пенс тоже присутствовали на конференции, но никто из них не контактировал с инфицированным.

Напомним, что случаи коронавирусной болезни COVID-19 зарегистрированы в большинстве из 50 американских штатов. В воскресенье о первых случаях сообщили Вирджиния и Коннектикут.
