Опитування було проведено газетою The Dallas Morning News і Техаським університетом Тайлера, в результаті МакКонахі набрав 45% голосів опитаних.

Результати досить неймовірні. Особливо якщо врахувати, що Метью МакКонахі відкрито розмірковував про можливість участі у виборах, і навіть недавно заявив, що “це буде залежати від підтримки людей”.
