Многие западные СМИ предполагают, что следующим пунктом в списке «Сделать до наступления перемирия» пророссийских боевиков будет попытка «освобождения» Мариуполя. И здесь уже Порошенко отступать нельзя. Ведь потеря еще и Мариуполя, поставит крест на политической карьере Порошенко. Это прекрасно понимают и на Западе и в России.

После сдачи Дебальцево западные СМИ гадают, чем дальше займутся «ополченцы», ведь кроме войны, за весь прошедший год они больше ни в чем себя больше не проявили. Поскольку уже все прямо называют «ополченцев» российскими боевиками, то невольно возникают вопросы к западным лидерам – уж не собираются ли они закрыть глаза на непрекращающуюся агрессию России в Украине. Пророссийские боевики ответили на Минские соглашения о прекращении огня штурмом Дебальцево, которое удерживают украинские войска, находящиеся в «оперативном окружении». Мировая общественность через Совбез ООН пытается как-то образумить террористов, призвав их к выполнению взятых на себя обязательств, но все безуспешно. По факту, Минские соглашения не выполнялись ни дня, но отменять их полностью никто не спешит. Военный конфликт на Украине, по оценке многих изданий, продолжает удерживать первое место среди «горячих точек» планеты.
