Несмотря на требование народа провести выборы в украинский парламент одновременно с голосованием за нового президента 25 мая 2014 года, в Верховной Раде пока зарегистрирован лишь проект постановления о назначении выборов в органы местного самоуправления.
Авторами инициативы выступила группа депутатов от «Свободы». Бывшие оппозиционеры решили взять быка за рога и провести выборы сразу во все органы местного управления. Так, на 26 октября 2014 года они предлагают назначить голосование за новых депутатов местных и сельских советов, а также мэров городов, пишет Новый регион.
Отметим, что широкая общественность, активисты Майдана возмущены тем фактом, что на 25 мая назначены только выборы президента Украины, а новый состав парламента переизбирать члены Верховной Рады не собираются. Пока полномочия народных избранников считаются действительными вплоть до 2017 года.
