Згідно іспанської конституції, питання про організацію такого референдуму може підняти тільки центральний уряд Іспанії. Найближчим часом в Мадрид буде відправлена петиція з вимогою надати автономного співтовариства Каталонія має право провести референдум про незалежність.

Парламент Каталонії більшістю голосів підтримав проведення референдуму з питання відокремлення від Іспанії.

"За" проведення референдуму виступили 87 депутатів із 135, троє - "утрималися".

Проведення цього референдуму заплановано на листопад цього року.

Між тим, згідно іспанської конституції, питання про організацію такого референдуму може підняти тільки центральний уряд Іспанії. Найближчим часом в Мадрид буде відправлена петиція з вимогою надати автономного співтовариства Каталонія має право провести референдум про незалежність.

Каталонія не раз намагалася відокремитися від іспанського королівства.

У 1979 році Каталонія отримала автономний статус, за яким послідувало офіційне визнання каталонського мови.

Голова уряду Каталонії Артур Мас у вересні 2013 року вперше заявив про можливість проведення референдуму про незалежність цього автономного співтовариства.

Згодом нижня палата іспанського парламенту відхилила пропозицію про проведення в Каталонії референдуму.
