В западных СМИ снова поднимается вопрос возврата коллекции крымских экспонатов с прошлогодней выставки «Крым: золото и секреты Черного моря». Политическая составляющая вопроса российской аннексии украинского полуострова, не позволяет вернуть экспонаты обратно в Крым, согласно всем договорам. Второй новостью сегодняшнего утра стала переброска американской военной техники в Болгарию, пока в очень урезанном количестве, но никто не говорит, что США этим ограничатся.

Германия призывает не допустить дальнейшей эскалации конфликта на востоке Украины и призывает провести новые мирные переговоры при посредничестве ОБСЕ. У европейских представителей серьезную озабоченность вызывает то, что рост количества случаев боестолкновений, грозит перейти из фазы охлаждения конфликта в полномасштабную войну. В иностранных СМИ также указывают на проблему вынужденных переселенцев с Восточной Украины, которые не получают практически никакой помощи от государства.

Западные СМИ подозревают Россию в подготовке кампании по дискредитации доклада следственной комиссии по МН17, трагедии унесшей жизни 298 иностранных граждан. Об этом говорят выброшенные в сеть некачественные фейки, о якобы спланированном сотрудниками ЦРУ теракте, для последующего обвинения в этом России. Также в иностранной прессе отмечает рост недовольства крымчан российской властью, которая мало делает для того,чтобы снять блокаду и изоляцию с полуострова.

Американское командование снова назвало Россию главной угрозой безопасности США. После всех заявлений и докладов исследовательских центров, в западной прессе растет обеспокоенность, что еще совсем недавно, выглядевший чем-то невообразимым, военный конфликт НАТО с Россией, постепенно становится реальностью. Если в России военный конфликт с Америкой пропагандировался государственными СМИ на протяжении многих лет, то в западной прессе еще не готовы принять такой поворот событий.

В западных СМИ отмечается эскалация конфликта на Донбассе, которая, по мнению некоторых экспертов, может привести к возобновлению полномасштабных боевых действий. Вторым аспектом, который может спровоцировать конфликт, но уже между НАТО и Россией, аналитики считают частые и масштабные учения, как российской армии, так и европейских вооруженных сил. Также в иностранной прессе сообщается, что голландские следователи обнаружили в обломках МН17 семь неизвестных фрагментов, которые могут быть остатками российской ракеты.

Молдавия может стать новым вызовом европейской системе безопасности, если не сможет взять под контроль коррупцию в стране, считают западные политики. Экономическая стабильность страны сейчас зависит только от наличия решительных шагов по борьбе с олигархией и коррупцией. Без них не стоит рассчитывать на какую-либо внешнюю финансовую помощь. Также западные СМИ сообщают, что страны Прибалтики начали обсуждение вопроса о присоединение к Декларации о взаимной обороне Скандинавских стран. Российская агрессия на Украине играет на сплочение европейских стран и укреплении их военно-политических связей.
