Андерсон номінується у Палату представників США від Вірджинії і має консервативні погляди. Він «чайлд фрі» і виступає проти абортів.

 Для своєї компанії Андерсон використав фото, де його можна характеризувати як щасливого батька сімейства. Утім, він одинак і живе тільки з собакою.

Представник Андерсона заявив Times, що «опонент Дерріка та будь-який інший кандидат в Америці публікують схожі фото і відео з різними прихильниками», додавши, що в цьому контенті просто зображені «жінки-прихильники та їхні діти».

 Джерело зображень спливло в статті The New York Times, де зазначалося як республіканці-чоловіки, які виступають проти абортів,«з усіх сил намагаються привернути увагу жінок-виборців, стурбованих своїми репродуктивними правами».
