Сирийский телеканал Syria TV выпустил в качестве «молнии» сообщение об убийстве австрийского эрцгерцога Франца Фердинанда, информирует РИА Новости. Это событие на самом деле случилось 100 лет назад.

«22 человека, два офицера и женщина получили ранения в результате взрыва рядом с кортежем эрцгерцога в Лондоне», — такая новость попала в эфир сирийского телеканала.

Арабская версия BBC запустила в Twitter рубрику «as live» («как вживую»), посвященную Первой мировой войне. Вероятно, незадачливые сотрудники Syria TV решили, что там публикуются реальные новости. Об этом также говорит тот факт, что местом теракта стал Лондон, хотя на самом деле наследный принц был убит в Сараево.

Эрцгерцог Франц Фердинанд погиб 28 июня 1914 года в Сараево от руки сербского революционера Гаврило Принципа. Считается, что это убийство стало прологом к Первой мировой войне.
