Культовий маскот McDonald’s Гримас тепер має власне місце на бейсбольному стадіоні «Сіті Філд» у Нью-Йорку.

Команда «Нью-Йорк Метс» оголосила, що встановила пам’ятне місце на стадіоні «Сіті Філд» на честь маскота у секторі 302.

 

Гримас виконав першу подачу в матчі «Метс» 12 червня проти «Маямі Марлінс». Нью-Йорк виграв ту гру з рахунком 10-4 і продовжив серію з семи перемог після вірусної першої подачі.

Місце знаходиться у шостому ряду та 12 секторі 302, що є вшануванням гри, у якій Гримас зробив першу подачу. Тоді «Метс» програвали з рахунком 29-37, і сезон, здавалося, наближався до невтішного завершення. Серія з семи ігор допомогла стабілізувати команду, і вона зберегла цей імпульс до кінця.

 

Наразі «Нью-Йорк Метс» має рахунок 81-68 і ділить з «Атлантою Брейвз» останню путівку в національну лігу. Команда також лише на дві гри відстає від «Аризони Даймондбекс» за друге місце у вайлд-кард, тому сильна кінцівка сезону може підняти команду до місця у плейоф.

З огляду на це, спроба повернути частину «магії Гримаса» видається гарною ідеєю.
