Народний депутат від партії "Опозиційна платформа – За життя" Ілля Кива виступив із промовою на російському пропагандистському телешоу "60 хвилин" з ведучою Ольгою Скабєєвою, зокрема підтримав можливе злиття України та Росії в одну державну єдність.

"Росія професійно, досить дипломатично, 8 років тому – а я щиро зараз кажу – ви зробили гамбіт. Ви віддали тоді менше, але виграли час.

Росія виграла час, наростила військову потугу, зміцнила економіку й сьогодні, через 8 років, Росія почала диктувати умови й заявляти про свої права на ту територію (Україну – ред.), яка, дійсно, як на мене, має знаходитись в одному союзі – в нашому слов’янському союзі.

Це – прекрасна політична гра, яка заслуговує на повагу: 8 років тому ви віддали Україну, але забрали Крим, а через 8 років – ви прийшли по все".

Кива заявив, що вважає Україну "колонією Заходу", яку використовують лише для використання ресурсів.

Нардеп від "ОПЗЖ" також похвалив президента Владіміра Путіна й голову Чечні Рамзана Кадирова, що вони, мовляв, сприяють "об’єднанню слов’ян".

Крім того, Кива засудив нещодавнє рішення українського уряду розпочати військовий облік жінок за окремими професіями. Він прокоментував, що так українська влада, на його думку, хоче залякати населення та примусити повірити, що незабаром станеться війна з Росією
