Канадська військова, яка годувала своїх товаришів по службі кексами з канабісом під час навчань з бойовою вогнепальною зброєю, тепер може бути засуджена до п'яти років тюремного ув'язнення.

Бомбардувальниця Челсі Когсвелл була визнана винною в застосуванні “отруйної штуки” стосовно восьми солдатам, а також в безчесній поведінці.

Солдати розповідали, що відчували себе п’яними і збитими з пантелику, тримаючи в руках зброю після того, як з’їли тістечка в 2018 році.

Злочин стався за три місяці до того, як канабіс був легалізований по всій Канаді.

Військовий суддя-командир Сандра Суксторф оголосила рішення в середу. Вона сказала, що прокуратура поза всяких розумних сумнівів довела, що постраждалі солдати їли канабіс з кексів, які військова свідомо дала їм.

Прокурори на її військовому процесі стверджували, що Когсуелл додала ще більшої небезпеки в і без того небезпечну ситуацію, коли вона роздавала шоколадні кекси, відповідаючи за їдальню під час польових навчань.

Солдати говорили про те, що вони відчували себе “розтягнутими”, “безладними”, “параноїдальними” і “млявими” після поїдання таких страв.

В ході відеодопроса Когсвел розповіла, що інші солдати називали її женоненависницьким словом, і додала, що вживання канабісу серед військовослужбовців і так поширене.

Очікується, що суд винесе своє рішення в листопаді.
