Американський діловий журнал Forbes звинувачує міністра торгівлі США Вілбура Росса (Wilbur Ross) в обмані заради того, аби потрапити в рейтинг найбагатших американців, пише Media Sapiens
 

В рейтингу «Forbes 400» за 2016 рік міністр був на 232 місці, а його статки були оцінені в 2,9 мільярда доларів. Хоча сам Росс наполягав на тому, що ця цифра становить 3,7 мільярда.

Тим не менш, коли пан Росс отримав посаду в адміністрації президента Дональда Трампа, він подав обов’якову декларацію й згідно з нею його статки не перевищують 700 мільйонів доларів. Коли Forbes звернувся до міністра за поясненням, пан Росс сказав, що журнал не врахував гроші, які знаходяться у сімейних трастах. Але надати документи, які б підтверджували наявність ще близько 2 мільярдів доларів він не зміг.

Міністерство торгівлі США згодом офіційно заявило, що жодних грошових переказів у трасти Вілбур Росс не здійснював. Журнал вирішив викреслити міністра зі свого рейтингу.

Вперше Вілбур Росс потрапив у рейтинг Forbes в 2004 році - тоді його статки оцінили в один мільярд доларів. Коли журналісти видання звернулися до нього за підтвердженням цієї суми, пан Росс сказав, що вона є правильною.
