Король Салман ібн Абдул-Азіз наказав газеті «Аль-Джазіра» (al-Jazirah) усунути від роботи автора колонки, в якій монарха прирівняли до Бога.
Як повідомляє Media Sapiens, газета не пов’язана з медіаходингом «Al Jazeera», заснованим у Катарі. Автор колонки Рамадан аль-Анзі (Ramadan al-Anzi) використав у своєму тексті декілька прикметників, які в ісламі асоціюються з Аллахом. В Саудівській Аравії дотримуються поглядів суннітського ваххабізму, згідно з якими не схвалюється приписування людям божественних якостей та не дозволяється називати людей одним з 99 імен Аллаха.
У повідомленні до міністра інформації король написав, що він «вражений деякими фразами, що використовуються в колонці». Згодом газета опублікувала вибачення.
Нагадаємо, нещодавно Саудівська Аравія закрила офіс телекомпанії Аль-Джазіра. Ліцензія телекомпанії була відкликана за «пропаганду терористичних груп і підтримку повстанців у Ємені».
