До групи хабарників входили міський голова одного із міст Закарпаття, депутати та начальники відділів міської ради.

Чиновники вимагали від підприємця 4 тисячі доларів США за надання в оренду земельної ділянки та погодження дозвільної документації на розміщення малих архітектурних форм.

Кримінальне провадження відкрито за ч. 3 ст. 368 (Прийняття пропозиції, обіцянки або одержання неправомірної вигоди службовою особою) Кримінального кодексу України.

Посадовцям загрожує покарання у вигляді позбавлення волі на строк від 5-ти до 10-ти років ув’язнення з позбавленням права обіймати певні посади чи займатися певною діяльністю строком до 3-х років, з конфіскацією майна.

На даний час проводиться огляд місця події та вирішується питання про затримання фігурантів в порядку ст. 208 Кримінального процесуального кодексу України.
