На виборах президента Туркменістану переміг нинішній глава держави Гурбангули Бердимухамедов.

Як повідомляє Reuters з посиланням на дані Центральой комісії з виборів і проведененню референдумів країни, Бердимухамедов отримав 97,69% голосів виборців.

Цей президентський термін стане для Бердимухамедова третім.

У минулому вересні були внесені зміни в Констутуцию Туркменістану, які дозволяють Бердимухамедову залишатися при владі на невизначений термін.

Крім Бердимухамедова, на пост президента претендували ще вісім чоловік.

За даними ЦВК, на виборах президента проголосували 3 мільйони 140 тисяч 865 осіб, або 97,27% зареєстрованих виборців.
