Посол Сирії, представник уряду Башара Асада, Башар Джаафрі у вівторок, 13 грудня, на екстреному засіданні Ради безпеки ООН показав дипломатам фейкове фото, видавши його за дійсне. Так, посол намагався викликати в ООН співчуття щодо "хорошого ставлення" військових Асада до мирного населення в Алеппо. Про це повідомляє ТСН

"Ось, що робить сирійська армія в Алеппо. На цьому фото ви можете побачити, як сирійський солдат допомагає жінці", — сказав посол Джаафрі, показуючи Радбезу фото, також заявивши, що жінка намагалася врятуватися в східному Алеппо. Але, як з'ясувалося згодом, фото, яке продемонстрував посол, виявилося фейковим. Мало того, воно не було зроблене не те, що в Алеппо, але і не в Сирії взагалі. 

Те зображення, яке тримав у руках Джаафрі, було обрізаною версією фото, де не було видно прапору Іраку на уніформі одного з військових. Цікаво, що на це швидко звернули увагу користувачі соцмереж.


Як з'ясувалося, це зображення вперше з'явилося на іракському шиїтському телеканалі Afaq Sat TV четвертого червня. Насправді на ньому зображені іракські військові-шиїти Хашд аш-Шаббі, відомі також як Популярні мобілізаційні об'єднання. Вони допомагали переміщеним особам з Фаллуджі. Залишається невідомим, хто обрізав фото і чи знав Джаафрі про фейк. Утім важливо відзначити, що відповідне зображення посол представив на Радбезі після того, як звинуватив ООН у використанні "неперевіреної і непідтвердженої" інформації під час оцінювання подій у Сирії.
