Державна дума Росії затвердила в другому читанні поправки до бюджету на 2017 рік, які передбачають виділення телеканалу RT (АНО "ТВ-Новости") додатково 1,22 мільярда рублів (понад $19 млн)

Згідно проекту бюджету, додаткові кошти виділені "на створення, розвиток, підтримку та розповсюдження телевізійного каналу французькою мовою". Загальне фінансування RT сягає 18,74 мільярда рублів ($282,8 млн).
Зміни в проект федерального бюджету запропонував внести уряд. Про додаткове фінансування закордонного мовлення наприкінці листопада повідомляв заступник міністра зв'язку і масових комунікацій Олексій Волін.
Раніше в бюджеті було закладено збереження фінансування RT на колишньому рівні, надбавка була запланована тільки для федеральних каналів. Опитані виданням експерти припускають, що збільшення фінансування пов'язане з погіршенням міжнародної обстановки і можливою перемогою на президентських виборах у Франції Франсуа Фійона, який представляє об'єднання правих і центристів.
