Новый посол США в Украине Джефф Пайетт не заводил аккаунт в соцсети Twitter.

Об этом "Обозревателю" сообщил пресс-атташе посольства США в Украине.

По его словам, @Geoffrey_Pyatt, появившийся в Twitter в день прибытия Пайетта в Украину, является фейковым.

"Кто-то проявил инициативу и завел его за посла", — отметил пресс-атташе.

Он также сообщил, что Пайетт проинформирован о данном липовом аккаунте и раздумывает теперь завести свой настоящий Twitter.

Ответить же на вопрос, будет ли вести посол США свой Twitter, пресс-атташе ответить затруднился, отметив лишь что посол сейчас усиленно учит украинский язык.

Напомним, 4 августа в Twitter появился аккаунт @Geoffrey_Pyatt якобы от нового посла США в Украине. При этом он велся на украинском языке. "Вітаю! Я Джеффрі Р. Пайєтт. Мати честь бути ваш Посол у вільна Україна! Дякую", - написал лжепосол свой первый твит 4 августа.

Как сообщал "Обозреватель", 3 августа Пайетт прибыл в Украину. Он заменил Джона Теффта, который исполнял свои обязанности в Украине с 20 ноября 2009 г.

 

Ранее Пайетт работал заместителем посла США в Индии, генеральным консулом в Гонконге, вице-консулом в Гондурасе.

 

Новый посол пообещал, что  будет побуждать украинскую власть выполнить все условия ЕС для подписания соглашения об ассоциации. В частности, он намерен посодействовать скорейшему освобождению экс-премьер-министра Украины Юлии Тимошенко.
