Избирательная комиссия Египта объявила, что парламентские выборы в стране пройдут в два этапа: 22 — 23 марта и 26 — 27 апреля 2015 г.

Решение избиркома было принято после того, как президент Абдул-Фаттах ас-Сиси утвердил закон о парламентских выборах, согласно которому страна изберет 567 депутатов, причем 420 из них будут избираться по одномандатным округам, 120 — по партийным спискам, а еще 27 депутатов будут назначены лично президентом,пишет ИА REGNUM 

В них примут участие более 54 млн египтян, имеющих право голоса. Их проведение будет означать конец «переходного периода», объявленного военными после свержения летом 2013 г. правительства Мохаммеда Мурси.

Напомним, что деятельность египетского парламента была приостановлена в 2012 г. по решению верховного суда страны.

«Братья-мусульмане» не смогут учувствовать в выборах, поскольку по решению суда движение признано террористическим, а ее политическое крыло — «Партия свободы и справедливости» распущено.

Либералы во главе с Хамдином Сабахи, бывшим соперником главы государства на президентских выборах, уже объявили о намерении бойкотировать предстоящие выборы по причине «несовершенства избирательного законодательства и возвращения Египта к авторитарным формам правления».
