Министр информации Юрий Стець заявил, что не будет закрывать бесплатную газету "Вести". Об этом он сообщил на встрече с журналистами, а также активистами Национального союза журналистов Украины и Независимого медиа-профсоюза, сообщает сайт Дело

"Регистрацией печатных средств массовой информации занимается Министерство юстиции. Никакого отношения ко мне этот вопрос не имеет", — сказал Стець.

По словам Стеця, в Украине "противодействием" российской пропаганде занимается другое бесплатное издание — "Україна Єдина". Он от метил, что тираж этого еженедельника сейчас превышает 100 тыс. экземпляров. Также по словам руководителя спорного министерства, у подконтрольного ему ведомства есть иные цели, нежели введение цензуры в СМИ. "Мы намерены расширить количество тиража и распространение такой газеты как в Киеве, как и в регионах (в том числе, на Донбассе). Именно этим будет заниматься Мининформации", — подчеркнул Стець.

Он также добавил, что начинал выпускать эту газету за свой счет, но позже привлек спонсоров, благодаря чему тираж удалось увеличить тираж в 5 раз — с 20 до 100 тысяч.
