Вони надали дані щодо приблизно 208 мільйонів активних користувачів із США (загалом у країні 231 мільйон користувачів Facebook та Instagram), що дозволило дослідникам проаналізувати поведінку користувачів під час виборів 2020 року. 

-  Користувачі, які переглядали алгоритмічні канали, витрачали значно більше часу на платформі, ніж хронологічна група. Незважаючи на те, що хронологічні канали показували більш "поміркований" контент на Facebook, дослідники виявили, що збільшилася кількість політичного контенту (на 15,2%) та "ненадійного" контенту (на 68,8%) порівняно з алгоритмічними каналами.

-  Консерватори та ліберали покладаються на різні джерела інформації

- 97% усіх політичних новин, які факт-чекери вважають "неправдивими", побачили більш консервативні користувачі, ніж ліберальні.

- Більшість веб-сайтів, включених у політичні публікації на Facebook, обслуговують консерваторів, а не лібералів.

-  Зміна алгоритмів Facebook мало вплинула на поляризацію, вони зазначають, що дослідження охопило лише кілька місяців і тому не може оцінити довгостроковий вплив, який мали алгоритми.

-  Більшість людей отримують новини та інформацію з різних джерел - телебачення, радіо, інтернету, а також від знайомих, що також може вплинути на думку людей.
