В Афганистане в субботу, 28 сентября, в 7:00 по местному времени (5:30 по Киеву) начались выборы президента страны.

Об этом сообщает Tolo News.

По данным телеканала, общее число зарегистрированных избирателей составляет 9,6 млн. В 34 провинциях страны должны были открыться 5373 избирательных центра, однако 445 из них будут закрыты из-за угроз безопасности.

На пост президента Афганистана претендуют 18 человек, в том числе нынешний глава государства Ашраф Гани и действующий премьер Абдулла Абдулла.

При этом, как сообщает Sky News, менее чем через час после старта голосования на избирательном участке в городе Кандагар произошел взрыв.

По словам высокопоставленного чиновника из провинции Кандагар, в результате взрыва пострадали три человека. Информации об их состоянии на данный момент нет.

Ответственность за взрыв пока не взяла на себя ни одна группировка.

Ранее движение Талибан угрожало сорвать выборы, организовав нападения на избирательные центры, сотрудников избирательных комиссий и правоохранительные органы.
