На днях вице-президент США Джо Байден, выступая в Белом Доме, сказал, что прекрасно понимает финансовые трудности работающих родителей, поскольку он сам "беднейший человек в Конгрессе".

Байден, который зарабатывает $230 700 в год на посту вице-президента США, не имеет, по официальным данным, никаких сбережений, акций, облигаций или каких-то ценных бумаг. При этом средний годовой доход американца, по данным специализированного сайта Salary Explorer, в три раза меньше доходов "бедного" Байдена - $74 000. 

Примечательно, что газета The Capitol Hill обнаружила, что несколько десятков членов Конгресса имеют долги, которые превышают $500 000.
