Необычный инцидент произошел в американском штате Коннектикут: полиция задержала официального сурка-предсказателя погоды Чаклса Восьмого. Сурок действительно провинился, предсказав теплую погоду и скорый приход весны, но через несколько дней обрушились снегопады.

За ошибочный прогноз главному сурку-метеорологу штата грозит шесть недель за решеткой, но выйти из тюрьмы он может под залог денежной суммы в размере 10 тысяч долларов США. Чаклс был арестован 6 февраля, местная полиция получила уже множество просьб жителей штата об освобождении провинившегося. Собранные деньги пойдут на благотворительные цели.
