В ролике мужчина шутит, что причиной пандемии стала съеденная летучая мышь. В Ad Standards отметили, что регулятор исследует факт нарушения правил этики AANA. Зрители пожаловались на то, что ролик высмеивал печальную ситуацию для многих жителей Австралии и в мире. Жалобы также касались вопросов вины на основании национальности, а также языка, используемого в рекламе.

«Мы признаем, что австралийцы известны своим особым чувством юмора. Комиссия часто принимает во внимание юмор во время своих обсуждений, однако пандемия оказала разрушительное воздействие, и жизненно важно, чтобы в процессе рассмотрения жалоб были учтены интересы затронутых членов сообщества», — отметил регулятор.
