Университет американского штата Кентукки перестарался с набором студентов, отправив по ошибке 500 тысяч приглашений на электронные почтовые адреса старшеклассникам по всей стране. При этом всех ребят зачислили на курс менеджмента медицинского факультета, в то время как обычно туда поступает 35–40 человек в год.

Проблема возникла из-за ошибки в цифровой системе взаимодействия с абитуриентами. Программа внезапно решила, что все люди в базе данных удачно поступили на специальность по менеджменту. Университет уже принёс свои извинения, согласно данным FoxNews.

Как выяснилось, большая часть школьников, получивших письма, никогда даже не слышала о таком учебном заведении и не посещали.

Когда я увидела сообщение, то сразу рассказала маме, что поступила в Кентукки. На что она ответила: «Я и не помню, чтобы ты подавала документы в этот штат». И я ответила: «Правильно, ведь этого не было»,  — рассказала журналисту издания Lex 18 абитуриентка из Техаса.
 

А кто-то даже не понял, что произошло. Мне пришлось загуглить название университета и специальности, чтобы убедиться в том, что они действительно существуют, — поделился воспоминаниями парень из штата Джорджия.
