Влада Саудівської Аравії заснувала Раду, яка повинна захищати права жінок, але на першому ж засіданні не було жодної жінки.

Видання опублікувало фотографію: на церемонії про початок роботи об'єднання оголошують 13 чоловіків.

«У регіоні Ель-Касім ми вважаємо, що жінки — сестри чоловіків, і ми вважаємо своїм обов'язком надавати їм все нові і нові можливості для роботи», — повідомив принц Фейсал бін Міш'ал, губернатор провінції.

Жінки в цей час перебували в сусідньому приміщенні.

У Саудівській Аравії діє програма щодо збільшення кількості жінок на ринку праці — зараз лише 22 відсотки з них працюють, тоді як у 2030 році планується працевлаштувати третину всіх жінок країни.
