Литовський суд засудив до домашнього арешту 67-річного чоловіка за те, що він публічно схвалював дії диктатора Йосипа Сталіна та злочини Радянського Союзу проти Литви.

Вільнюський районний суд в понеділок наказав Юрію Суботіну залишитися вдома з 10 вечора до 5 ранку щодня протягом 14 місяців.

Громадянина Литви Суботіна, який має російське походження, визнали винним у порушенні закону, який криміналізує суспільну підтримку злочинів, вчинених радянським режимом проти Литви.

Суботін опублікував кілька образливих онлайн-коментарів. Один із них схвалював депортацію литовців до Сибіру під час радянської окупації.

Видання Delfi цитує один із таких коментарів під статтею на інтернет-порталі у 2016 році: "Дякую Сталіну, Снєчкусу і Радянській владі, а кому не подобається бути з Росією - геть на... (нецензурний вислів. – Ред.) з Литви, чемодан, вокзал, Америка".

Суботін не визнав себе винним і планує оскаржити вирок
