Лідер опозиційної Демократичної народної партії Чорногорії Мілан Кнежевич разом з іншими депутатами своє партії забарикадувався в будівлі парламенту, аби уникнути арешту, який санкціонував Вищий суд країни.

Влада звинувачує лідерів опозиції, які виступають проти зближення із Заходом, в причетності до підготовки невдалого перевороту в Чорногорії в жовтні 2016 року. Правоохоронні органи вважають, що загальне керівництво переворотом здійснювалося з Росії – у РФ відхрещуються від причетності.

30 листопада лідер опозиційного Демократичного фронту Небойша Медоєвіч був заарештований на два місяці через звинувачення у хабарі, висловлених на адресу прокурора. Опозиція вважає привід для арешту надуманим.
