Президент Соединенных Штатов Америки Дональд Трамп ошибочно оскорбил своего сторонника, приняв его за протестующего.

Об этом сообщает Reuters.

На встречу Трампа с избирателями в Нью-Гэмпшире пришла группа протестующих.

Когда они уходили, то некий Фрэнк Доусон в футболке с надписью "Трамп 2020" кричал и махал им в след кулаками. Это заметил Трамп, и, приняв своего сторонника за протестующего, заявил: "У этого парня серьезные проблемы с весом. Иди домой. Начни делать упражнения. Выведите его отсюда, пожалуйста".

Позже президенту сообщили, что мужчина, на самом деле, его сторонник. После этого американский лидер решил ему позвонить.

В администрации Трампа заявили, что дозвониться Доусону глава государства так и не смог, потому оставил голосовое сообщение, в котором не извинялся, а поблагодарил американца за поддержку.

Журналисты поинтересовались у Доусона, что он думает по этому поводу. "Я думаю, он решил, что я из числа протестующих, но я им не был ... Все хорошо. Я люблю этого парня (Трампа - ред.). Он - лучшее, что случалось с этой страной", - заявил тот. Также удалось выяснить, что Доусон - отставной американский маршал из Воберна (штат Массачусетс).
