Американский телеканал Fox News по ошибке сообщил о желании британцев выйти из Организации Объединенных Наций (ООН) вместо Евросоюза. На оплошность телеканала в пятницу, 24 июня, обратили внимание пользователи Twitter.

Информация о том, что в Соединенном Королевстве провели референдум, в ходе которого жители страны проголосовали за выход королевства из ООН (UN), а не ЕС (EU), содержалась в новостном титре в нижней части экрана.

В комментариях к записи один из пользователей Twitter в качестве шутки решил довести масштабы референдума до гротеска. «Это еще ничего. Я слышал, что скоро мы проведем референдум о выходе из Объединенной федерации планет», — написал он.

Плебисцит в Великобритании состоялся в четверг, 23 июня. Его результаты были оглашены 24 июня. Сторонники Brexit, то есть выхода из Евросоюза, победили, набрав 51,9 процента голосов. Власти ЕС уже заявили, что ждут от Лондона скорейшей подачи официального заявления на выход из сообщества.
