Прем'єр-міністр Росії Дмитро Медведєв під час вручення урядових премій журналістам процитував письменника Антона Чехова щодо того, що через новорічні свята треба не радіти, а плакати і страждати.
Під час свого виступу російський чиновник заявив про те, що днями перечитував цитати класиків щодо новорічних святкувань. Серед них була і ця, яку він "звісно ж, знав, але забув".
"Новий рік - така ж погань, як і старий, з тією лише різницею, що старий рік був поганий, а новий завжди буває гірше. По-моєму, під час зустрічі Нового року потрібно не радіти, а страждати, плакати, робити замах на самогубство", - прочитав Медведєв.
Він додав, що чим новіший рік, тим "ближче до смерті, ширша лисина, звивистіші зморшки, старіша дружина, менше грошей".
