На официальном сайте турнира появилась информация о соревнованиях, а также материал, который посвящен жеребьевке на этом турнире, и организаторы сообщили, что Свитолина - теннисистка из России. Интересен тот факт, что ошибка еще не исправлена. Следует отметить, что на Australian Open украинская теннисистка будет сеянная под 4 номером. Напомним, что после блестящего выступления на турнире в Брисбене украинская теннисистка поднялась в мировом рейтинге на четвертое место, и теперь она является четвертой ракеткой мира. 

Что касается следующего турнира в Австралии, то многие букмекеры также делают ставку на украинку. Она является одной из главных фавориток турнира. Одинаковую котировку на победу Свитолина имеет вместе с румынкой Симоной Халеп.
