Изображение сняли с сайта после того, как властям кто-то написал имейл и объяснил, почему использовать его некорректно. Об этом пишет Independent.

«Мы не знали, что это мем. Конечно же, мы сменили картинку. Изображение само по себе не вводит в заблуждение и соответствует теме, поэтому его публикация в течение нескольких часов, по нашим оценкам, не подорвала доверия к вакцинации», — заявила Reuters пресс-секретарь мэрии Стокгольма Ханна Феллениус.

«Гарольд, скрывающий боль» в реальной жизни — фотомодель из Венгрии Андраш Арато. Снимок с ним стал мемом в 2010-х годах после того, как на него обратили внимание на реддите. Арато монетизировал свою популярность: участвовал в телешоу, снимался в клипах и рекламных роликах.
