Росіянка Тамара Тансиккужина і полячка Наталія Садовська грали партію, коли в кадрі трансляції з'явився один з організаторів і відклеїли від столу російський фланг. Це було зроблено за рекомендацією Всесвітньої антидопінгової агенції (ВАДА).

Нагадаємо, що Всесвітнє антидопінгове агентство (ВАДА) заборонило російським спортсменам виступати на всіх турнірах з прапором і гімном країни терміном на чотири роки. Втім, пізніше Спортивний арбітражний суд скоротив термін дії заборони до 16 грудня 2022 року. Таке покарання було накладено на Росію за численні махінації з допінгом і створення державної допінг програми, спрямованої на завоювання медалей російськими спортсменами.

"Те, що зняли прапор під час гри, було повною несподіванкою! Головний суддя відмовився робити це під час гри. Організатори змушені були робити це під тиском. Так вони мені пояснили після гри", - сказала Тансиккужина "Спорт-Експресу".
