Глава «ЛНР» Игорь Плотницкий, находясь с визитом в Костроме, предположил, что «Евромайдан» получил такое название от евреев, нации, которая по его мнению «сейчас в большинстве возглавляет бывшую нашу Украину». Об этом он заявил на пресс-конференции, которую он провел 15 июня 2015 года в Костромском государственном университете имени Н.А. Некрасова,пишет Інформатор.

Как сообщает российский интернет-ресурс «Победа», свою конференцию Плотницкий начал с лекции, которая называлась «Современная Украина как фашистское государство нового типа».

«У историков хочу спросить или у филологов, даже не знаю, у кого больше, почему именно «Евромайдан». Отчего собственно такое название? От территории? Или может быть от нации, которая сейчас в большинстве возглавляет бывшую нашу Украину? Я ничего не имею против: Вальцман, Гройсман и много других. Я ничего не имею против евреев, как нации, как избранного народа. Об этом мы будем говорить отдельно, если будет такая возможность. Но вопрос в том, что называя «Евромайданом», закладываем суть, что во главе сейчас стоят представители той нации, которая больше всего пострадала от нацизма», — заявил Игорь Плотницкий.
