Президентський броньований лімузин компанії Cadillac The Beast був доставлений із США для того, щоб Дональд і Меланія Трамп могли користуватися ним під час своїх візитів за кордоном.

Однак під час відвідин королівського палацу в Бельгії автомобіль, задні двері якого зроблені з 20-сантиметрової броні, не зміг проїхати у ворота палацу, не розраховані на транспортні засоби такої ширини.

"Зазвичай глави держав, запрошені на прийом до короля, залишаються в своїх автомобілях до тих пір, поки не опиняться у дворі. Трамп же був змушений покинути автомобіль, щоб пішки увійти до королівського палацу, але це було узгоджено з американськими секретними службами", – розповіло джерело видання.

Лімузин Трампа коштує $1,2 мільйони, він був розроблений з врахуванням різних сценаріїв атак на президента.

В передній частині автомобіля заховані гранати зі сльозогінним газом. Колеса зроблені зі спеціального сплаву, з підкачкою повітря, на випадок проколу. Крім того, вони оснащені сталевими накладками, які дозволять автомобілю не знижувати швидкість навіть у випадку, якщо покришки будуть підірвані. Днище автомобіля захищене бронею, здатною витримати вибух протитанкової міни.
