У лютому в Канаді і США щорічно відзначається день чорної історії - проводяться заходи, присвячені внеску темношкірих людей в культуру і спадщину.

6 лютого у Twitter на тлі обговорення цього свята помітили чорну водолазку-балаклаву з колекції Gucci осінь-зима. Користувачі побачили в предметі одягу натяк на "блекфейс" і карикатурне зображення темношкірих.

"Це 2019 і ви говорите, що модельєри не знають, чи схоже це на расистську прикрасу? Gucci знав, що робить. Як і всі вони знають. Дайте темношкірим дизайнерам працювати на вас, якщо ви самі не можете розпізнавати подібні речі. І припиніть вибачатися, ви явно не жалкуєте", - написала користувач у Twitter.

Після цього Gucci виступило з офіційною заявою: компанія вибачилася, а також прибрала водолазку-Балаклаву з онлайн-продажу і всіх магазинів.

"Gucci глибоко вибачається за порушення, пов'язані з вовняної водолазкою-балаклавою. Ми вважаємо різноманіття фундаментальною цінністю, яку треба підтримувати, поважати і ставити на чільне всіх рішень, що ми приймаємо", - йдеться у повідомленні.
