Псевдонаукову роботу з жартами на тему "Зоряних війн" опублікували в чотирьох наукових журналах, а один з них навіть запропонував автору увійти до складу редакційної ради

Журналіст написав свою статтю головним чином на основі статей з Вікіпедії на тему мітохондрій , автоматично замінивши їх в тексті на мідіхлоріани (в міфології саги це мікроскопічні форми життя, що існують в симбіозі всередині всіх клітин живого організму і дозволяють відчувати Силу). У матеріал були також вставлені окремі відсилання до сюжетів саги, монолог Палпатина про Дарта Плегаса.

На цю вудку потрапили чотири журнали (всього статтю відправили в дев'ять видань). The American Journal of Medical and Biological Research (SciEP) прийняв статтю, але запросив за публікацію 360 доларів. International Journal of Molecular Biology: Open Access (MedCrave), Austin Journal of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (Austin) і American Research Journal of Biosciences (ARJ) опублікували статтю на безоплатній основі.

Два журналу відмовили в публікації. Ще два попросили автора переписати свою статтю і подати її повторно. Обидва рецензента рукописи, пов'язані з журналом JSM Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (JSciMedCentral), здогадалися про те, що автор їх розігрує. 

Редколегія видання Journal of Molecular Biology and Techniques (Elyns Group) взагалі не оцінила гумору і порекомендувала поставити "мітохондрії" замість "мідіхлоріан". Крім того, вони запросили автора статті стати членом редакційної ради.

На думку журналіста, успіх розіграшу не говорить про те, що система наукових журналів безнадійно зіпсована - він лише підкреслює, що наявність анонімного рецензування саме по собі нічого не гарантує.
