Сотни пациентов клиники Askern, расположенной в Донкастере, накануне Рождества получили сообщение, в котором говорилось, что у них агрессивный рак лёгкого с метастазами. Людям предлагалось заполнить анкету, которая позволяет пациентам с неизлечимыми заболеваниями претендовать на льготы.
Одним из получателей смс оказался 57-летний Крис Рид, который ожидал результатов теста на рак легких. Прочитав информацию, он попытался связаться с медучреждением, но телефонная линия была постоянно занята. Не в силах ждать Рид отправился в клинику и потребовал встречи с врачом. Выяснилось, что результаты его анализов отрицательные, а сообщение со страшным диагнозом было отправлено по ошибке.
Примерно через час после случившегося клиника отправила своим пациентам ещё одно смс с извинениями. В нём говорилось, что вообще-то медучреждение просто хотело пожелать получателям счастливого Рождества, пишет The Sun
