В останній день Олімпійських ігор 2024 українські активісти влаштували на Таймс-сквер перформанс, щоб вшанувати пам’ять 488 атлетів і тренерів, яких вбила росія.

Тіла активістів були покриті червоною фарбою, що символізувала кров, пролиту за свободу, а довкола них були розкидані кубки та медалі, також покриті фейковою кровʼю.

Учасники перформансу тримали в руках борди, на яких написано: «Я би міг брати участь у змаганнях, але росія мене вбила», «Я б боровся за медалі, а не за своє життя», «Моїм полем бою став не стадіон, а фронт», «Замість змагань — війна, замість медалей — пам‘ять», «Якби не росія, моє імʼя було б у списку учасників Олімпіади, а не в списку загиблих», «Якби не росія, я б тримав у руках кубок, а не зброю».
