Британський листоноша Джон Метсон знайшов спосіб підбадьорити жителів Західного Болдона в дні карантину. А водночас і себе, адже в ці непрості дні йому доводиться залишатися на маршруті.

39-річний батько двох дітей відмовився від своєї уніформи і тепер кожного дня підбадьорює людей яскравими костюмами. Вони далекі від образів Marvel або DC, та у соцмережах Джона вже нарекли супергероєм.

"Я працюю листоношею трохи більше чотирьох років. До цього я був водієм автобуса, так що ця робота була для мене новою. Але я дуже люблю її, - розповів Метсон блогеру порталу BoredPanda. - Мені подобається бути на свіжому повітрі і зустрічатися з людьми".

За два роки роботи чоловік познайомився майже з усіма жителями Західного Болдона. "Це чудові люди. Мені пощастило доставляти в той же район, де живу я, тому багато хто з них - мої сусіди, а деякі - друзі", - додав він.

Звичний робочий день Джона починався з сортування пошти та обдзвону деяких одержувачів, після цього чоловік з колегою Полом завантажував автомобіль і вирушав розвозити листи і посилки. Але в дні карантину все змінилося. "Тепер я не можу піти до офісу, так як контакти необхідно звести до мінімуму, - пояснив він. - Пол тепер приходить на роботу сам, готує всю пошту і завантажує фургон. Він їде до мого дому і залишає сумки, а далі вже ними займаюся я зі своїм візком для багажу".

Спорожнілі вулиці, відсутність звичних розмов з сусідами і спілкування на дистанції змусили Джона зажуритися. Так і з'явилася ідея дістати з комірчини яскраві костюми.

 

Через кілька днів експерименту, люди, яких відвідував Джон, вранці почали чекати його біля вікон. Фотографії листоноші одразу ж розлетілися по соцмережах і зробили його місцевою знаменитістю.

"Така кількість щасливих людей дуже піднімає настрій і мені. Раніше я хвилювався через необхідність виходити на роботу, хвилююся і зараз, але тепер мені значно простіше, - поділився Джон. - Єдине, що мене дійсно дуже турбує, так це те, що у мене закінчуються речі".
