Україна намагається вказати Євросоюзу на своє толерантне ставлення до ЛГБТ-спільноти, намагаючись видавати бажане за дійсне.

У виданні зазначають, що під час проведення в Києві пісенного конкурсу "Євробачення" Україна намагається продемонструвати європейським державам, що в країні добре ставляться до людей з гомосексуальною орієнтацією. Про це, зокрема, свідчить девіз цьогорічного конкурсу "Шануємо різноманіття".

При цьому у статті згадуються слова прем'єр-міністра Володимира Гройсмана, який у 2015 році заявив, що Україна ніколи не підтримає легалізацію одностатевих шлюбів. 

Журналісти поглузували і над Аркою дружби народів, частину якої розмалювали в кольори ЛГБТ-спільноти для того, щоб "відокремити себе від Росії, яка виступає проти геїв".

"Тепер арка має дратівливий вигляд: частина розмальована в кольори веселки, частина - блискучий сірий метал, місто зупинило роботу над проектом, коли проти нього виступили ворожі активісти "Правого сектору", які розмахують своїми зловісними червоно-чорними прапорами. Речник "Правого сектору" Артем Скоропадський сказав, що "Київ - це не європейська столиця геїв", - пише Euractiv.
