За кількістю створених статей, створених у лютому 2018-го року, українськомовна «Вікіпедія» посіла шосте місце з-поміж усіх мов, на одну позицію випередивши російськомовну.

Днями був опублікований міжмовний рейтинг кількості створених за минулий місяць статей «Вікіпедії», пише Media Sapiens

Лідером стала англомовна «Вікіпедія» із результатом у 18451 статті.

Українською мовою було створено 6423 статті. Це лише на 61 статтю менше, ніж в іспаномовної «Вікіпедії», яка посіла 5-те місце.

Генеральний директор Асоціації підприємств інформаційних технологій України і засновник ГО «Вікімедіа Україна» Юрій Пероганич відзначив, що українська «Вікіпедія» розвивається лише зусиллями волонтерів-редакторів. Він нагадав, що статтю може створити кожен охочий, так само, як і відредагувати вже існуючу.

Пан Пероганич закликав носіїв української мови долучатися до редагування «Вікіпедії».

У ГО «Вікімедіа Україна» також нагадали, що кількість створених статей прямо залежить від активності редакторів різних мовних версій «Вікіпедії». Таку активність вимірює показник вікіпедійної пасіонарності — число активних редакторів на мільйон носіїв мови. Для носіїв української він становить 19. Для порівняння, для носіїв польської це 28, російської — 12. Серед народів світу, які мають більше 500 тис. носіїв мови, найактивнішими за показником вікіпедійної пасіонарності є естонськомовні користувачі, далі йдуть носії мови басків, івриту, норвезької, шведської, каталонської, німецької і чеської.

Нагадаємо, в 2017 році українська «Вікіпедія» піднялася на два рядки й опинилася на 19 місці в світі за відвідуваністю. За рік, що минув, було створено понад 85 тисяч статей українською мовою, що на 40% більше в порівнянні з 2016 роком. Тож кількість українськомовних статей на платформі вже перевищує 757 тисяч. Це 16-й показник у світі.
