Начиная с 1983 года, создатель мужского журнала Hustler Лари Флинт, под видом петиций ежемесячно высылает свежий номер всем членам Конгресса США, передает Новое время.

Возмущенный этим фактом в 1984-м Конгресс попытался отписаться от Hustler, но суд Округа Колумбия постановил, что доставка журнала не может быть остановлена согласно Первой поправке к Конституции США. 

"Получение журнала раз в месяц не обременительно для конгрессмена. Конгрессмены не обязаны читать его, неужели в здании конгресса недостаточно урн?" - написал суд. 

Первая поправка Конституции США гласит, что Конгресс США не будет ограничивать право народа обращаться к Правительству с петициями об удовлетворении жалоб.  

Все 535 членов конгресса до сих пор подписаны на Hustler  хотят они этого или нет, многие относятся к этому факту с чувством юмора. 

Как говорил Ларри Флинт: «Моисей освободил евреев, Линкольн освободил рабов, а я просто хочу помочь всем невротикам».
