Громадяни Єгипту заявляють про те, що влада намагається максимально мобілізувати виборців прийняти участь в голосуванні за очільника країни. Про це повідомляє інформаційне агентство Reuters.

Виборці отримують гроші, продуктові пакунки і інші заохочення під час третього і останнього дня голосування. Тим самим влада максимально намагається легітимізувати переобрання Абдель Фаттаха Ас-Сісі. За підрахунками протягом перших двох днів явка склала лише 47%. Всього в країні 59 млн. осіб мають право голосу. 

Представники виборчих комісій намагаються якщо і не переконати виборців взяти участь в волевиявленні, то хоча б помітити палець чорнилом, що означає участь в виборах. За це на виборчій дільниці можна отримати національної валюти в еквіваленті 3 доларів. Продуктові пакунки, які дають виборцям, включають рис і рослинну олію. Працівників державних установ звільнили на півдня від роботи і накази не повертатися без чорнила на пальці. Керівники провінцій намагаються стимулювати місцевих виборців обіцянками ремонту комунальної інфраструктури в районах із найбільшою явкою. Урядові ЗМІ називають тих, хто не взяв участь в голосуваннях, зрадниками Єгипту.
