Генеральний секретар ОБСЄ Ламберто Дзанньєр стурбований швидким загостренням конфлікту на Сході України.

Про це він повідомив у Києві, де перебуває з дводенним візитом, - передає ТСН.

Дзанньєр певен, що насилля не є способом подолання конфлікту.

Він наполягає що проблеми слід вирішувати політичним і дипломатичним шляхом.

"ОБСЄ схвалює прагнення української влади вести діалог із Росією і, зі свого боку, готова всіляко сприяти подальшій деескалації конфлікту", - сказав генсек ОБСЄ.

Він підкреслив, що президентські вибори – важливий крок у подоланні політичної кризи.

Тому, за твердженням Дзанньєра, представники ОБСЄ допомагатимуть діалогу влади з громадянами - будуть спостерігати і контролювати правові аспекти здійснення виборів.

"Ми допомагаємо українській владі, аби переконатися, що підготовка триває ефективно. Ми плануємо привести велику групу спостерігачів – близько тисячі. Це найбільша операція в історії ОБСЄ. Це буде ключовий виклик для України, і ми хочемо, щоб він пройшов вдало", - заявив генсек.
